The first implantations of TOUCH® in the United States continue to generate strong media attention.
Chicago-based TV channel WGN recently featured the technology in its Medical Watch segment, presenting the story of the first American patient treated with the implant.
The report follows Trisha Warren, who suffered from severe thumb arthritis, and includes insights from Dr Jonathan Tueting (Rush Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine – Aurora), who performed the procedure.
During the segment, the implant is explained in a very accessible way, comparing it to a mini hip replacement for the thumb joint, helping viewers understand the innovation and its potential benefits.
The coverage highlights how this solution, already widely used in Europe, is now expanding to the United States and offering new treatment options for patients suffering from thumb osteoarthritis.
